While the NBA Finals are heating up tonight, I'm sharing a different kind of championship story ๐
@mcuban built @CostPlusDrugs to fight ridiculous prescription prices.
Same drug. Same dose. Same 90 pills.
$8 vs $100+

@CanyonDriver Excellent few days of sports for me. Lakers won Friday, CSK (Cricket) won Saturday Morning, got to hatewatch the Celtics choke their 3-1 lead and get eliminated, now I get to go to OKC for game 1 Tuesday!
Hating more Jaylen Brown afterwards is another bonus.
@LALPerformance when I watched this in real time on my phone (https://t.co/EMmRNdCqFL app) I thought it was Marcus Smart lol only know I see it was Gabe
Glad that his treatment went well and that he shared this personal information publicly - because stories like this help push awareness forward in a way medical journals or doctors never could. If even ONE PERSON learns the signs of stroke or gets a workup done they would have skipped - it's an overall win! Hopefully my son and I can see him in concert sometime in the future~
I'm a big fan and actually had tickets to the concert in Austin he canceled last year! (Yes @StubHub gave me a refund). @donaldglover (aka Childish Gambino) shared that he had a stroke and that afterwards doctors found a "hole" in his heart - which I BELIEVE (not sure of his exact diagnosis) to be a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO).
To me this story is a good reminder:
1. Stroke isn't just an "old age" problem
2. Sometimes the cause of a stroke isnโt hypertension, diabetes, or arrhythmia - itโs anatomical.
3. FAST Acronym reminder - Face drooping, Arm (or leg) weakness, Speech difficulty, Time (how long since symptoms starts and Time to call 911)
@CanyonDriver TBH Chuck and Ernie were at least trying to explain to the other 2 who were way off. Dave McMenamin tweeted the same thing later.. Just ESPN ragebaiting successfully
Often watched his late night chess streams and enjoyed his commentary at tournaments. He was the rare combination with insight of a Top GM with a lightning quick entertaining wit.
Big loss to the chess community. RIP
The Naroditsky family shares the sad news of Danielโs unexpected passing. Daniel was a talented chess player, educator, and beloved member of the chess community. We ask for privacy as the family grieves.
