For our #MusicMonday feature, Soldiers from The U.S. Army Field Band serve up a tribute to Scotland's national dish: haggis. While in Edinburgh last month, Six-String Soldiers' own Master Sgt. Brandon Boron thought he would propose a new MRE flavor featuring his favorite Scottish delight. Would you try it?!
Have you ever wondered what it takes for The Old Guard Drumline to get ready to perform? Here's a behind-the-scenes look as we warm up prior to the drumming showcase for "Top Secret and Friends" in Basel, Switzerland.

Our second #MusicMonday feature provides another glimpse of The U.S. Army Field Band proudly representing the @USArmy and our nation during the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo this summer. The mass bands march-off at the end of each night was one of our Soldiers' favorite moments!
Each band showcased their own unique culture through the music they played while marching down the streets of Edinburgh, one after the other. Our musicians decided to perform a piece from a quintessentially American musical genre: Jazz.
Do you know what song they are performing? Give us your guesses in the comments!

Today we are kicking off our new #MusicMonday features! As a "thank you" to the people of Edinburgh, Scotland, The U.S. Army Field Band marched in a pre-show parade through the Royal Mile alongside other performers for this summer's Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (@EdinburghTattoo). It was our honor to connect with and shake the hands of citizens from around the world, building relationships on behalf of your U.S. Army!
Land navigation is an essential skill for U.S. Army Soldiers, especially those who are trying to attain one of the Army's elite special skill expert badges. Last week, U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) stepped up to the challenge as they participated in land navigation during Expert Soldier Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge and Expert Infantryman Badge (E3B) testing at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
During the land navigation portion of the testing, Soldiers navigated wooded terrain using military map-reading and compass techniques to locate designated points. This event evaluates Soldiers’ ability to navigate unfamiliar terrain and demonstrate proficiency in essential navigation skills during E3B testing.

Have you earned one of these expert badges? Leave a comment and tell us what the test was like for you!
