@post_liberal In 2018 their best players were brilliant but their whole team wasn’t as good as France’s. Belgium had at least one player in their team who had recently being playing in The Championship. France were the best team in the tournament which is why they won it.
@LUFCHistory He played 2 up front and brought on attackimg subs with time for them to make an impact, against a team on edge of Champions League places.
@AlexiLalas For example, going from 2 to 3 points for a win and disallowing keepers picking up the ball from a pass from their own team massively encouraged attacking play
@philmcnulty Phil, can we have a column from you about how this is an example of extreme wealth ruining the competitiveness at the top-end of the English game, instead of this tone of approval? If not, can someone else at the BBC write it? Because many fans are growing extremely bored of it.
@philmcnulty@j1fozfoster@alistairmagowan It’s not becoming a major problem that a small number of super rich clubs increasingly monopolise trophies & finals? It’s not becoming increasingly predictable which clubs will win trophies? It is, & it’s boring now.
@Michael_Green__ Can’t we sometimes play with 2 up front at home to be a bit more direct and break teams down who are dug in defensively? Bamford and Eddie up front together could mix it up sometimes. 443 in away matches is more effective as teams have to be more open against us.
