Tomorrow, ActionSA launches “the Tale of Tshwane”.
We will unpack the successes of Mayor Nasiphi Moya’s time in office, and lay out a compelling case as to why she needs #5MoreYears 🗳️🇿🇦
Today, ActionSA will demonstrate the cynical nature of the DA's case before the Electoral Court.
This is a party that has run out of ideas, and instead of trying to win over voters who don't trust them, they simply plan to disenfranchise them.
ActionSA's legal team is prepared to teach the DA a lesson that we will not be bullied by a party that wants to win elections against the will of the South African people.
The IRR is a joke, and their feeble attempt to extort ActionSA with their modest social media following is a punchline.
ActionSA does not need help establishing a compact with the South African people and, if we did, the IRR would be the last organisation we would engage.
Voetsek.
That is the difference between a mayoral candidate rooted in Joburg versus one who is a tourist from Cape Town.
Herman Mashaba will not give up and move back to Cape Town if fixing Joburg requires him to work in a complex, messy coalition.
A few weeks ago, I was in the Eastern Cape canvassing the support of former ANC voters when the DA delivered their anti-democratic challenge before the Electoral Court.
Today, we settle this case. One party winning new support, the other trying to disenfranchise South Africans.
The DA is taking parties to the Electoral Court today for something it does itself.
If this is not the definition of hypocrisy...
Our lawyers are ready to dismantle this case.
Well this is awkward... the GNU Government, represented by the Minister of COGTA, is opposing the DA's Electoral Court application and calling the DA out for their shocking abuse of the legal process.
@snav06 "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."
What do you think is the appropriate description for a mind that focuses on someone's clothing?
The DA has rushed to the Electoral Court mere weeks before the election to disenfranchise voters, despite holding the levers of power to amend regulations that govern the submission of PR lists for years.
ActionSA will fiercely oppose this before the Electoral Court today.
In 2016 the DA actually offered that another political party could supplement the DA's PR list using the same provision they are challenging in the Electoral Court today.
This is what hypocrisy looks like.
The DA is confused.
It has taken ActionSA and others to the Electoral Court today for submitting PR lists with one candidate, whilst doing the same.
Today they will be taken to the woodshed.
