And just like that, our STEAM Lab days for the 23-24 school year have come to a close. We celebrated with some Uncle Steph's, Vex robotics, Art Geometry, and the completion of our Student Interest Labs. It's been a great year!
CSI: STEAM Lab edition! After learning about finger printing, handwriting analytics, and DNA profiling, students worked together to creat mock crime scenes for their classmates to solve.
Monument Chemical made learning about chemical reactions fun and engaging. Thank you so much for volunteering your time and expertise to work with our kiddos!
After studying the Amazon Rainforest and deforestation, students reached the design and trial phases of our seed machine STEM challenge! We’re still working our way through SILS projects as we dissect machines, design dinosaur terrariums, and build our Revolutionary War dioramas.
Thank you @WKUPcal and Hardin Planetarium for hosting such an amazing field trip today! I think we have some future Hilltoppers that are ready to reach for the 🌟🌟 🌟
We love friendly competitions during our MCHS GATE meetings. Strategy and focus delivered a win for the yellow team while playing a new game, “ Not My Name”.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks in the STEAM Lab! Middle Schoolers are learning about forensics, innovators in music, and ads for the big game. Elementary coded “On Collision Blocks” and studied African American inventors for Black History Month.
MCHS and SPMS students turned their imaginations into creations as they attended a hand-built pottery class at Brandenburg’s own PG Studio Art Center. Stay tuned for some Insta-worthy creations!
We are so proud of all the participants in today's district Spelling Bee. Congratulations to our winner, Paige; runner-up, Elise Webb; and third place, Kenadie!
Feliz Carnaval from the STEAM Lab. This week we continued our journey through Brazil as we learned about deforestation and; indigenous people of the Amazon; played "Guess Who: Amazon Animal Edition"; and made our parade attire.
STEAM Lab was back in action this week as we began our adventure into the Amazon Rainforest. SILs projects have entered the action phase: dissecting computers, recreating DaVinci works, 3D printing, and designing terrariums.
We were holiday hustling in the STEAM lab this week! Our elves stayed busy saving reindeer, making fractal trees, creating chemical reactions, and unlocking a Breakout edu.
Oh, what fun it is to give back! This week our SPMS and MCHS students focused on completing service projects by making snow globes, cards, and 3D printing ornaments for nursing homes. SPMS also did a Breakout, solved the case of missing reindeer, and finished MC string art!
In honor of Native American Heritage month, our STEAM lab kiddos learned about the Navajo tribe, formulated a rescue plan for a stranded hiker in Antelope Canyon, and finished their Kachina dolls. Students also built rescue devices and did a Sphero obstacle course.
STEAM lab kiddos turned into CSI investigators this week as they solved clues, analyzed artifacts, and made theories about what happened to the colonist of Roanoke Island. We also programmed bots, started making Kachina dolls, and continued working on our SILS.
Creating dioramas of classical music compositions, finishing string art, crime scene investigating, and trying out our robotic arms kept our middle schoolers busy this week!
We love hosting field trips to the STEAM Lab! Last week, Mr. Hardy’s class from FPS kicked off our first field trip of the school year! This group was so impressive as they worked hard coding Spheros and built structures that survived our earthquake simulation!
The STEAM Lab turned into Dr. Frankenstein’s Lab this week as we created our own Franken-circuits. Students also made Papel Picados in celebration of De Los Muertos( Day of the Dead), coded Spheros, and continued working on their SILS projects like Machine Dissection and 3D print
From Monet to Monsters to digging for Dino DNA,SPMS kept us busy this week in the STEAM Lab. Thanks to Mr. Hager’s carpentry class, art students continued working on the collaborative string art of Meade County. Students also started SILS projects and began creating robot arms.
