The diapers actually being paid for doesn’t make this any less tragic. Even if they were stolen, they weren’t more valuable than this baby’s life.
This is why we marched, our children deserve to grow up.
Following months of activism, 1,500 beagles are being released from the Ridglan Farms testing facility to animal rescue groups: the Beagle Freedom Project and Big Dog Ranch Rescue. To all the dogs being released, we wish you many years in loving homes. 14/10 for all
Tonight, Mayor Olivia Chow and I came to Nathan Phillips Square to light the Hanukkiah and welcome the first night of Chanukah — a festival of light, hope, and resilience.
But our joy tonight is tempered by deep sorrow. My heart is heavy for the families and communities affected by the horrific attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, where people gathered to celebrate the same holy occasion were met with unimaginable violence.
Every Jewish community around the world — and right here in Toronto — deserves to feel safe and secure as they celebrate. We will fight to ensure the community is free from hate and danger.
On this first night of Chanukah, we stand in solidarity with Jewish communities in Australia and around the world. We mourn those lost, hold the injured and their loved ones in our thoughts, and reject in every form the hatred that seeks to silence joy and spread fear.
May the light of these candles remind us that even in the darkest moments, our shared humanity, compassion, and commitment to peace will always burn brighter.

Let us #PrayTogether for all those who suffer due to war and violence. Today I particularly wish to entrust to the Lord the victims of the terrorist massacre carried out yesterday in #Sydney against the Jewish community. Enough with this antisemitic violence! Let us eliminate hatred from our hearts.
Our thoughts are with all our friends around the world who were affected by community violence this weekend. You are not alone.
When little ones hear about violent events on the news, it can be hard to help them understand and cope with what happened. Limiting media exposure and making space for them to express big feelings can help children feel safer and more secure.

Heartbreaking tragedy at Vancouver's Filipino festival, where a man drove a car into the crowd, killing and injuring innocent people.
On this sad day, Ukrainians deeply share the pain of Canadians, Vancouver residents, and the Canadian Filipino community. Our condolences to the victims' families, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery.
Stay strong, our friends in Canada and the Philippines 🇺🇦🇨🇦🇵🇭 @MarkJCarney@bongbongmarcos
Dear Canada, I felt compelled to make something. To stick up for, and to honour. To show our strength, beauty, genius, empathy, light & heart. It's made with deep gratitude for the people and places of this beautiful land. Vive le Canada 🇨🇦❤️✌️💪 https://t.co/UNXJ0UusP1

Make no mistake: Ukraine is leading the fight for democracy. A just and lasting peace requires Ukraine to be at the negotiating table, and its victory will make all of us safer.
Ukraine must win. Putin must lose.
Slava Ukraini.
October 10 is World Homeless Day, a time to reflect on our shared responsibility to prevent and end homelessness. Let us continue pushing for meaningful change. 🤝

Thanks so much !!
@tammyhwang@cityofhamilton It’s a very active road crossing to get to Queen Mary, I’m on the PTA and even spoke with City staff about it. I even filed a police report. Should the parents and children walk with commercial signage while walking across the street to get something going by the City on this?
Just realized it’s been exactly a year since I was hit by a truck crossing Cannon St. Despite doing everything I was told to do by the City, nothing has improved at Cannon and Province St. Will there ever be an update @tammyhwang@cityofhamilton ?
