C’est la journée internationale de l’ours polaire mais ce n’est ni son année, ni sa décennie. Ni même son siècle… Les bouleversements climatiques dûs essentiellement aux activités humaines entrainent la destruction de son habitat naturel qui est aussi celui de toute la faune arctique.
On imagine difficilement une amélioration suffisante pour pouvoir sauver l'espèce d'ici à 2100. Certains scientifiques sont encore plus pessimistes, et estiment que la population aura disparue en 2050.
En attendant, selon la Nasa, la surface de la banquise décroît de 13% chaque décennie.

The F word… you may have heard of it.  Formaldehyde is a highly toxic substance, and this pic shows what fish farms use it for – to try and prevent fish being eaten alive by sea lice… But formaldehyde has other effects, mainly it causes cancer – and it’s being used in Salmon farming without proper controls.

The sea lice wouldn’t be an issue if the Salmon weren’t crammed, one hundred thousand at a time, into a small net, with only wriggle room between them.  We need to end the industrial scale farming of animals, there’s nothing right with it... https://t.co/cywuQj1nMD
