I have settled for the MaterialX format in the next version of Mecabricks. It makes so much sense. It will be much easier to create add-ons for most renderers. Here is a simple iridescent material in @threejs built from the mtlx file.
Lot's of new features added to the development version of mecabricks@next Including a virtual file system to store your files and share them, themes and workspaces customisation system, 3D viewports, etc.
Mecabricks is back online! It is time to open your browser and get bricking again. Have fun. Thank you @ovh_support_en for stepping in and sorting this issue.
I’ve received confirmation that @OVHcloud has locked Mecabricks following a complaint filed by Doppel regarding one of their customers. The issue concerned a single profile page with a spam username—no activity, no traffic, and already removed and blacklisted.
@tomonkeykid Unfortunately it is not that easy. It was a very different era when the core of the system was created. I'd rather spend the time on the next version that will make all of this much easier.
@dakar560193564@OVHcloud Spammers are a plague. With the rise of AI it is even more of an issue. That is why Mecabricks is being rewritten from the ground up with more hurdles for them. But it takes time.
Apparently, running a passion project maintained by a single person now requires sitting in front of your inbox 24/7, in case an automated enforcement system decides to shut down your platform without human review.
As a result, thousands of legitimate users have been unable to access the service for 3+ days. This kind of disproportionate enforcement and lack of transparency is deeply concerning for anyone relying on hosting providers for critical infrastructure.
@dakar560193564 You are quite wrong. Number of users keeps increasing. Most are silence users. Secondly not being a stand alone software is the DNA of MB. Take it or leave it 😉
@JaceEditing@ovh_support_fr I am currently sorting and syncing data in the unwanted event I have to change provider. Most models and renderings are on Amazon s3 now but there are still 400GB of data at OVH.
@JaceEditing I do but @ovh_support_fr doesn't... despite repeating to the tech support that the code has not changed in about 8 years. They keep redirecting me to the useless documentation and closing the tickets.
