The Beneficiary Mitigation Plan.

To administer the 14.7 billion dollars in funds, an “Environmental Mitigation Trust” has been established, and states will apply to become beneficiaries of the trust.

The second round of allocated money to replace heavy duty polluters with cleaner fuel vehicles is coming up.

Applications are due between September 16th and Nonmember 15th.

The Volkswagen Settlement.

VW allowed 500,000 U.S. cars to cheat government exhaust emissions tests, emitting up to 40 times the legally allowable pollutants.

Maine receives funding from this settlement to pay for projects that reduce NOx emissions.
