Teachers don't give up on their students because they know each one has significance, value, and a purpose, even if the student doesn’t realize it yet.
One of the most important qualities of a teacher is to stay young at heart. Once you stop enjoying time w/ kids, laughing often, enjoying the little things, being inspired by small successes or you start taking yourself too seriously you can lose your joy of teaching.
Effective leaders know their people; they know their stories. They don't just see a staff but they see individuals with aspirations, goals, and personal stories. These are leaders a staff appreciates and commits to as well.
Teaching is like a TEAM Sport! The best teams exhibit:
* respect/trust for all members
* willing to share ideas/resources
* common goals/vision
* responsibilities based on strengths
* effective leadership
* everyone supported/valued
* see others as colleagues not competition
