Thank you for using the kerbside recycling service. Please rinse food and drink containers before being put into the recycling bag. Your recycling doesn't have to be pristine. Please squash plastic to fit more in.

📄 Did you know that you can recycle shredded paper in your brown bin? Mix it in with food and garden waste and we'll turn it into compost. We can also compost greasy pizza boxes and chip paper. Another great way to get the best out of your brown bin!📰

🛒The team are working in partnership with @MedwaySwaleEP to clear the trolleys that have been dumped in Jane's Creek. If you'd like to get involved, please drop us an e-mail.
We look forward to seeing you 😃

‼ Single-use vape ban now in effect
From 1 June 2025 the sale & supply of single-use /disposable vapes are banned in UK.
Why? They cause serious environmental harm.
Recycle vapes, don’t bin them!
Return vapes to your supplier for recycling ♻

Why recycle food waste?
🥕 We turn food & garden waste into compost to grow new crops.
🦊 Food in your brown bin prevents animals tearing open bin bags, keeping the streets cleaner.
💷 You won't have to buy as many bin bags, saving you money.

There are no changes to any recycling or waste collections this bank holiday (Monday 26 May).
Please present your recycling, brown bins and black sacks by 7am on your regular collection day.

[Medway Recycling @MedwayRecycles]

❓Why do we ask you to squash plastic bottles?
Bottles are cylindrical, they roll on the sorting conveyer belt, making it difficult for the sorting machine to recognise. Squashing bottles stops them rolling, and helps you to fit more in your recycling bag 😀♻️👍

Did you know that you can recycle juice and food cartons at the kerbside? After use, simply rinse & squash and pop them in your white bag or clear sack - super! 🤩
