Lil Durk shares a powerful message from prison (March 31), saying he’s tired of being a “pawn” for the culture and now wants to help shift things in a more positive direction.
He said it’s been on his heart to guide the next generation, stressing that kids are watching and need someone positive to look up to.
“It’s just been sitting on my heart lately to just save this generation, to save these kids... For these kids, we gotta be their heroes.”
They hear Lil Durk and think it’s entertainment.
They don’t hear the funerals.
They don’t hear the survivor’s guilt.
They don’t hear what it costs to make it out when everybody around you didn’t.
He beat the streets.
He beat the odds.
He turned pain into platinum.
And now he’s sitting in a cell.
Same system that ignored the trauma.
Same system that profits off the story.
Same people who streamed the pain now judging the man.
Imagine surviving everything meant to kill you…
Just to still be treated like you were never supposed to win.
That’s why his music hits different.
Because for him, it was never just rap.
It was proof he made it out alive.
Disappear for a bit, work on yourself, get mentally and physically strong. Get your money right, delete sex, learn to love yourself, form a relationship with God and come back a new person.
Feel bad for Durk. When he was out every rapper stayed close to him cuz he was the hottest street rapper. He got locked up. They wrote him out the script… I ain’t see one rap friend say “Free Durk” yet.
I don’t have all the words, but I’m thankful to still have a voice.
Thankful for everyone who stood on love when things got heavy.
I’m working on myself, working on peace, and hoping the city feels that too.
