2. Create account
3. Input your details
4. Do verification with either your International Passport, BVN or NIN
5. They'll bring a payment option where you pay about #8,000
6. They'll give you access to download your original waec result
7. Print it in a hard concord paper

Today, I received the Olori Eyo, the White Cap chiefs, traditional leaders, and other participants at Lagos House, Marina, during the Ijade Opa Eyo procession.

The Eyo Festival gives us an opportunity to present Lagos beyond its reputation as Nigeria’s economic and commercial centre. It reminds the world that our city is also deeply rooted in history, culture, and tourism, and that these elements are just as important. Culture grounds us as a people. It is what we preserve, what we pass on, and what keeps us relevant.

This year’s festival will honour remarkable individuals who helped shape Lagos and Nigeria. We remember the late Chief Abibat Mogaji, the Iyaloja-General and mother of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, as well as Mobolaji Johnson, our first military governor. We also honour Alhaji Lateef Jakande, our first civilian governor, and Sir Michael Otedola of the Third Republic. Their contributions and legacies deserve lasting respect.

The Eyo Festival officially begins today, and it speaks to our shared identity and continuity. A society that loses touch with its culture risks losing its sense of purpose, and Lagos has chosen to remain firmly connected to its roots.

I thank His Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, for his leadership and for championing the return of the Eyo Festival after eight years. I also appreciate everyone who came out to show support for our heritage. Your presence reflects the strength and dignity of our culture.

As we look ahead to Saturday, December 27, I am confident it will be a proud moment for Lagos. It will be an opportunity to welcome friends from across Nigeria and around the world, and to reaffirm that Lagos is the centre of excellence in commerce and a true home of culture and tradition.

This video of children already chanting the Eyo songs ahead of the Eyo Festival on December 29, 2025 is not entertainment.
It is evidence.

Evidence that Lagos is not empty.
Evidence that Lagos is not borrowed land.
Evidence that Lagos has owners, culture, memory, and continuity.

These are children — not politicians, not influencers — children.
Yet they already know the chants, the rhythm, the meaning.
Culture this deep does not come from nowhere.

So when people casually say “Lagos is no man’s land,”
what they are really saying is that they do not understand history —
and ignorance does not erase ownership.

Lagos is Eko.
Eko has custodians.
Eko has traditions older than modern Nigeria itself.
The Eyo festival is not a show — it is a living institution passed down through generations.

You do not chant what you do not inherit.
You do not preserve what you do not own.

Let this be a reminder:
You are welcome to Lagos.
You are free to live, work, and prosper here.
But do not confuse hospitality with absence,
and do not mistake tolerance for weakness.

Respect culture.
Respect history.
Respect the land that feeds you.

Because cultures that have survived centuries
do not disappear because of online arguments.

And to those still pushing the narrative that Lagos is no man’s land,
consider this your warning — history is patient, but it does not forget.

Now that the elections are over and we are all gradually coming back to our senses.

I thought to drop my $1 on the "Yoruba Ronu" and "Lagos No Man's Land" rhetoric which were used as ethnic dog whistle to whip up anti igbo sentiment in Lagos.

It's a blessing what Lagos is.
