Mars isn’t as quiet as it looks. NASA’s InSight lander detected over 1,300 "Marsquakes" during its mission, proving the Red Planet is still geologically alive.

Here is the lowdown on the rumblings:

No Plates, No Problem: Unlike Earth, Mars doesn't have tectonic plates. Quakes happen because the planet is cooling and shrinking, causing the crust to crack.

The Meteor Factor: Some quakes are actually "thuds" from space rocks slamming into the surface!

Ringing like a Bell: Because Martian rock is so dry and fractured, a single quake can vibrate for hours, whereas Earth quakes usually end in minutes.

The biggest quake ever recorded? A 4.7 magnitude shaker in 2022.

Δ (Delta) ≈ direction sensitivity
Γ (Gamma) ≈ how fast Δ changes
Θ (Theta) ≈ time decay per day
Vega ≈ IV sensitivity
ρ (Rho) ≈ rate sensitivity (smaller on short-dated crypto options)
