@mward33 Throughout the lesson I ask questions that promote the verbalization of their thinking. This happens repetitively and they get used to the conversational thinking.

A5: I feel as though there’s been a lot of teaching that turns into just memorization of steps. For example subtraction with regrouping. I want my students to understand what they are doing by explaining it verbally, not performing robotically. #SynergizeEdu

Q6: Explain Everything app! Last assessment I had my students explain and show the steps to regrouping. I learn SO much listening and watching their thinking and so do they! #SynergizeEdu

A4: I enjoy using math games that mirror the concept/skill we are working on during whole group and guided math. Spinner games with some sort of recording dry erase sheet to go along. #SynergizeEdu
