@DirectorJackie I hope I didn't miss four, but I actually have this series and use it quite a lot in my classroom. Last year I used it as a beginning of class activity and this year we alternated one station with the menu option, of using menus in real life situations, and the mystery. Such fun!
@DirectorJackie They work in teams of 2-3 and I circulate/facilitate. I do place them together in order to make sure they have strong math students in each group. Often gifted choose gifted and sped choose sped.
@DirectorJackie It breaks them free from the textbook/worksheet hum drum. They are able to work and collaborate with a partner which they love and falls into working on the a couple of the 8 math practices.
@DirectorJackie They always love the hands on math. Whether it's cuisinere rods or blocks. Showing fractions (equivalent, addition, etc ) with Legos are a favorite as well
