@micheleborba We definitely learn more by doing the actual action or conversation. When you are having the interaction you can feel what others are going through, and it puts emotional imprints on you as well. It creates connections we font get with paper.
#Empathy is crucial, but kids say we use the wrong teaching method.
"You can't learn it on worksheets," 10 yo.
"Or reading abt it in textbooks," 15 yo.
8 yo gave best advice: "Adults should teach it as a verb-more active-so kids feel it, know it & want to do it."๐
Dear Graduate:
This virus may have stolen your senior year and graduation but it cannot and will not steal your future. Stay positive. Work hard. Look for opportunies. What you believe will determine what you create.
Seniors, donโt forget to swing by WHS tomorrow during your designated time (check your email) to pick up your FREE yard sign! If you havenโt picked up your cap/gown yet, weโll have those out, too. We look forward to seeing you! @WHSClassOf_2020@whsopgrad2020
What gets kids thru tough times arenโt grades, possessions or fancy degrees but traits learned from experience like #empathy, mental strength & hope. Help kids realize their inner powers to know they can get thru adversity now AND later. #parenting#coronavirus
We had such a fun time in wave one of the BMS parade shouting at our students and parents! Even people just in the community cane out to show support. How AWESOME!! ๐๐ #WildkatPride@WillisSchools@WISDBrabham#WildkatsNeverDie
