Saying things to your kids like "I'm proud of you" or "I love you tons" or "I'm so grateful you're my son/daughter" or "you have my blessing" can be awkward or even uncomfortable to say in person…

And texting or emailing nice things to your teens or adult kids can often be the easier, safer choice.

Unfortunately, Al can now text kind things better than you can. Al programs (Chat GPT, etc.) are available 24/7, they know your kid's hearts and minds, their deep questions, fears, and dreams.

The programs seem thoughtful and often eerily say just the right thing to your kid.

Bottom line: Al is better at digital communication with your loved ones than you.

What can you do?

Start calling your kids.
Meet them in person.
Tell them you're proud of them to their face.
Hug them.
Visit them.
Show them you love them.
Say what you need to say in person.

It's the only way forward.

@sarcasticpdx @KATUNews It is a country but Taiwan is part of the Republic of China, much like Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US. But we don't get offended that Puerto Rico is called a country because it's just ridiculous to be that controlling.
