The fifth and concluding day of the Training Programme on Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) marked the successful culmination of the programme on 29th August, 2025. @ndmaindia
Sessions covered drafting sector reports and the development of a recovery framework with emphasis on Build Back Better (BBB) elements. Participants also engaged in group work and presentations, applying their learnings through sector-specific PDNA reports.
Sessions focused on Standard Procedures for undertaking PDNA in Housing and Education (Social Sectors) followed by a field visit to St. Mary's School, Mawpdang.
Discussions focused on methodologies, practices for evaluating disaster impacts, strategies for effective response, recovery, restoration, & long-term rehabilitation. Group exercise enhanced understanding and practical application of the PDNA process.
The third day of Training Programme on Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) was held today, 27th August 2025 at MATI. The sessions focused on sector-wise standard procedures for undertaking PDNA in Infrastructure, Irrigation, Road Sectors and Flood Management. @ndmaindia
Participants were introduced to methods for assessing disaster impacts and planning effective rehabilitation strategies in the different sectors. The day concluded with group exercise to apply the concepts and methodologies discussed during the sessions.
Day 2 of Training Programme on Post Disaster Needs Assessment, organized by MSDMA in collaboration with MATI on 26.8.2025, focused on sector-wise standard procedures for undertaking PDNA in Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Forestry and Tourism Sectors.
This initiative aims to help the State's preparedness and response mechanisms by providing the skills for recovery and reconstruction, with sessions from experts to guide officials in carrying out effective post-disaster assessments.
