I went for a post-lunch stroll around Jantar Mantar- a few observations.

- 99% of the crowd is there for social media. More selfie sticks than protesters. More selfies than literal cockroaches.
- Everyone is looking for cheap food (or free food in nearby places of worship).
- Some college students, humanities, by the looks of it, and they are also unable to make sense of what's going on. Most are cluelessly strolling between lanes.
- A few rowdy fellows, the kind you see in an election rally. No points for guessing which party they represent.
- RAF, at least around CP, was quite chilled out. I missed the action, perhaps.
- 90% of the onlookers won't return. There is nothing for them. No volunteers. No micromanagement to get the crowd in one place. It's like a college festival after the DJ has gone home, and the food is over.
- This is not even 1% of what the Singhu protest was, even if the same promoters are involved. Ideally, Delhi Police should clear it out by tomorrow.

Why is Raj Thackeray targeting the most affluent, dominant community in traditional hubs like Dadar (W) was the biggest discussion point.
Here is their logic: It's a calculated MNS survival tactic.
​By backing influencer Prasad Vedpathak against the Jain community's white lines on public roads, Thackeray is exploiting long-simmering local resentment over housing biases and dietary policing in native neighbourhoods.
Ever since Uddhav Thackeray aligned with secular parties and split the original Shiv Sena, the core, aggressive, sons-of-the-soil space became fragmented.
By attacking a highly visible, wealthy non-Marathi group over public spaces, RT is attempting to show locals that while others compromised, he remains the only one willing to aggressively defend local spaces.
The Jain and Gujarati voter base typically aligns heavily with the BJP. With nothing to lose electorally from a community that doesn't vote for him anyway, he is using this high-visibility friction to position himself as the sole, uncompromising defender of Marathi identity.

PS: RT is a builder by profession and his marketing team pitches aggressively to Gujjus and Jains.😂

Criticize Ananya Panday for her dancing skills but bigger issue here is the choreographer & the director. She has been trained to do these steps by the choreographer. Gone are the days where actors had the commitment to learn a dance form for their song & where choreographers got steps right themselves.

Watching this clip felt like Bharatanatyam being held hostage by a catastrophic misunderstanding of the form.

Somewhere between the flailing arms and random camera moves, the dance quietly packed its bags and exited the building.

Bharatanatyam is built on technique, control, tradition, geometry, musicality and emotional depth. This clip treats it like a wedding sangeet filmed during a mild earthquake.

The tragedy is not that it is BAD. Bad can sometimes be charming. The tragedy is the complete confidence with which it bulldozes through centuries of sophistication, training, dedication and devotion while appearing utterly unaware that ADAVUS are not optional suggestions.

This is choreography by algorithmic panic - and Lord Nataraja is suffering this abomination.

हर 58 मिनट में एक छात्र आत्महत्या करता है। उसका कारण स्ट्रेस है, चिंता है, असफलता है, तंत्र द्वारा उसकी परीक्षा लेना है। निर्धन छात्र पैसे ले कर नए नगर में परीक्षा देने जाता है, प्लेटफार्म पर अख़बार बिछा कर सोता है, सड़क किनारे जल पीकर परीक्षा देता है कि एक दिन परिणाम आने पर उसकी चिन्ताएँ समाप्त हो जाएँगी, पर तंत्र उसे तड़पाता रहता है।

Can we please stop ‘study tours’ and foreign junkets of MLAs, MPs, ministers and bureaucrats first? At least common citizens travel abroad on their own money, AFTER paying a whopping 33% as taxes. Babus and politicians travel abroad on study tours on taxpayers’ money. @narendramodi ji, this message is not really fair. Govt should lead by example, instead of always asking citizens to make the change.
