As a part of build up to Mahindra Fusion Fest 2027 we do university activations for Talent Search across the Top 5 universities at SA.

At Wits University in Johannesburg, thousands of students turned out to groove with Nasty C, one of our 2027 headliners, while aspiring musicians, designers & artists stepped forward to show us what they’ve got.

We’re discovering some remarkable talent on this campus tour.

And we figured that the best way to connect with the next generation is to give them a stage.

My warmest congratulations to my friend & former colleague @GoenkaPk for being awarded the Padma Shri.

This is an emotional moment not just for him & his family, but for me as well.

A small-town boy from India, who used his education to go to America for higher studies & then to garner a plum job with General Motors, he always dreamed of coming back to India to contribute to his country’s development.

We were fortunate enough to convince him to join us and help build global R&D capabilities.

Which he did in abundant measure.

His appetite to serve his country was undiminished when he retired and he has, for the last several years, done yeoman service for the country’s space sector.

The Padma Shri is the crowning achievement of his homecoming.

We, at @MahindraRise , are privileged to have been part of his epic journey!

Congratulations Pawan and Mamta. You have done us all proud!

In 1991, when the Indian economy opened up, the world believed there were scant chances of our survival as an independent automaker.

We sought out Stellantis (Peugeot—for engine knowhow) Ford and Renault for knowledge on how to build modern cars. And we are grateful for their partnerships.

So I have to admit to a tinge of gratification at seeing this ranking.

We understand that such lists are a roller coaster and that we have to battle every day to survive and thrive.

And we know that customer-centricity is the key to staying relevant.

We will continue doing our best to make India proud.

I am unable to accept the absence of Ratan Tata.

India’s economy stands on the cusp of a historic leap forward.
And Ratan’s life and work have had much to do with our being in this position.

Hence, his mentorship and guidance at this point in time would have been invaluable.

With him gone, all we can do is to commit to emulating his example. Because he was a businessman for whom financial wealth and success was most useful when it was put to the service of the global community.
