@AshWhiffin @EdinburghNats @Love_plants @BSBIbotany @BSBIScotland @PlantlifeScot @theNPMS @LeifBersweden Found them for the first time this year as well. 🥰
But here they are all gone already. Enjoy them as long as they are around. :)

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@jam_and_germs Always looks amazing! I specially in that amount of detail. 👌🏼
How do you get them in so thick cultures?

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@jam_and_germs I found it in the detritus of a small pond in Germany. Sadly I can give you no size, the first video is in 200x, and this one in 400x

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

Hi @jam_and_germs maybe you can help, because I am at the end with my ID-ing skills. Do you have any idea what this could be? Neither worm nor insect larvae does fit. It looks a bit like a tardigrade with fins.

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@Carbolution Aufgrund der Nummerierung wahrscheinlich hydroxyprolin. 🧐

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@carlos_plants Congrats Carlos! I wish you nice separation in all the runs to come!

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@jam_and_germs This cradle of cultures“ sounds like the el dorado of the microcosmos. 😅

Extremely thankful and excited to be starting a Junior Research Group this year @LeibnizHKI to work on the fungal human pathogen Fusarium. Please come join me - an enthusiastic #newPI - by applying for the open PhD and Postdoc positions listed below! Please RT!

@jam_and_germs @JourneyToMicro I checked some more an I guess it’s most likely some oomycete species.

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

The first day of snow and I take a water sample. 😅
Luckily there was a rotifer and I watched them for 30 min how they unfold their cilia. Thanks @jam_and_germs and @JourneyToMicro for introducing me to this hobby. 👌🏼

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@jam_and_germs @JourneyToMicro I mean, the ciliates are no surprise. I find them often attached to copepods. But the hairy bits. Is it a fungus?

[Philippe René Meisinger @MeisingerRene]

@jam_and_germs @JourneyToMicro I can imagine! As nice as finding new stuff: In the same sample I found these very infested copepods. However I have no idea what it could be. Do you maybe have an idea @jam_and_germs ?

@GraceVarnham I am almost always a bit dusty because I am looking for critters and everything on my walks. After a while I started to embrace it. So you can make it a feature as well. 😅
