Life has taught me that it matters not whether you were the villain or the hero in the story, but rather what you become after experiencing the wrath of the story. Coz, even Heroes ends up as Villains sometimes.
US senator Bernie Sanders has condemned Trump’s attack on Venezuela, accusing him of bypassing Congress to take the country into war. He says it risks global instability and revives a dangerous imperial mindset.
🚨 HOLY HELL: Marco Rubio just said the quiet part out loud.
Asked by Kristen Welker why the U.S. needs Venezuelan oil, Rubio didn’t cite law, trade, or consent.
He said:
“Why does China need their oil? Russia? Iran? This is the West. This is where we live.”
Russia, China, and Iran must “get out,” Rubio said — because the Western Hemisphere is ours, and no one from “outside our hemisphere” is allowed in America’s backyard.
BREAKING: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formally charged 13 individuals and entities in the widening investigation linked to alleged corruption at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor), including former managing director Immanuel Mulunga. They are expected to appear in court at 11h00 this morning.
Mulunga faces charges of corruptly accepting gratification under the Anti-Corruption Act, making him the most senior official implicated in the scandal that has rocked Namibia’s oil industry.
Also charged is Cornelius Petrus Willemse, while Jennifer Ndapwohon Hamukwaya faces two counts: corruptly accepting gratification by an agent as an inducement and corruptly using office or position for gratification.
The list of accused includes several others believed to have benefitted from or facilitated corrupt transactions:
• Olivia Grace Dunaiski
• Peter Hango Elindi
• Malakia Natangwe Elindi
• Lydia Ilenikuye Elindi (Malakia’s wife)
• and Panduleni Ndiba Hamukwaya (Jennifer’s husband), who is specifically charged under Section 45(1)(b) of the Anti-Corruption Act.
Entities allegedly used to channel or receive suspicious payments have also been charged. These include Enercon Namibia (Pty) Ltd, which now faces a range of serious charges under both the Anti-Corruption and the Prevention of Organised Crime Acts. These include racketeering, money laundering, and attempting or conspiring to commit corrupt acts.
Other companies facing corruption charges are:
• Onyeka Clearing and Forwarding CC,
• Nyambali Medical Centre CC,
• Panduleni Farming CC, and
• Parkwood Petroleum Logistics CC.
The charges paint a picture of what investigators describe as a network of individuals and front companies used to solicit and disguise illicit payments in connection with oil supply contracts and other dealings with Namcor.
This development follows a string of arrests and ongoing asset forfeiture proceedings, with the ACC and the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) working jointly on what is now considered one of Namibia’s most complex corruption cases to date.
ACC yesterday said more arrests and charges are anticipated as investigations continue.
