I was with a family friend yesterday. Normal conversation. Then shares came up.
She bought Transcorp around 2006. Then 2008 crashed. Nobody explained anything to her. She panicked, sold at a loss, and never touched the market again.
While we were still talking, I searched her husband’s name on the SEC portal.
Access Holdings. Coronation Insurance. A few others. Unclaimed dividends sitting there for years.
They had no idea.
There is over ₦190 billion in unclaimed dividends in Nigeria right now. Most of it belongs to ordinary people who bought shares in the 2004 to 2008 boom, never completed their paperwork, and assumed the money died with the crash.
It did not die. It has been waiting.
Go to https://t.co/731nztTAbG and type in your name. Then your father’s name. Your mother’s. Your uncle who bought shares in 2007 and never spoke about it again.
The search is free. If your name shows up, the portal tells you which registrar holds your money. Fill that registrar’s e-mandate form and submit it through your bank or the registrar.
Know this too. Unclaimed dividends earn zero interest, and after six years of inactivity they can be swept into the SEC’s Investor Protection Fund.

@ADUOLUWATOPE their profile. I was amazed. From that moment, I promised myself to always stay longer when called, but I haven't received another invitation since then💔.
@ADUOLUWATOPE I can clearly relate. I only realized it was too late when a senior friend pointed it out to me. Every time he invited me to sit with them, I hurried to leave because I thought they were quite a bit older.
One day, he stopped me and explained why he invited me to join them and
SMART MONEY KEEPS CIRCLING THESE BLUE CHIPS: DANGOTE CEMENT, MTN & ARADEL.
They dominate value flows on NGX. From a value investing lens, the consistent presence of Dangote Cement, MTN Nigeria and Aradel Holdings in the top traded value over the past three weeks signals sustained institutional interest and market conviction in these companies.
High Value, Moderate Volume: these three counters are not topping the chart in sheer volume but rank very high in total transaction value. The willingness of investors to deploy significant capital is a strong indicator of perceived fundamental strength.
Quality Bias: I’ve spent the last 15 years studying and practicing quality investing. One of my strengths is the ability to identify quality in equities. Value investors typically look for companies with durable competitive advantages, strong cash flows, and pricing power
Dangote’s cement dominance, MTN’s entrenched telecom infrastructure, and Aradel’s integrated energy model position them as core long-term holdings for many institutional and sophisticated investors.
Potential Implication for Pricing and Valuation: Sustained high value trades can imply accumulation, not just speculative churn. If fundamentals remain solid, this accumulation phase may precede further price re-rating.
Dangote Cement, MTN, and Aradel are emerging as institutional favorites… a trend that aligns with classic value investing principles, which prioritize durable business models over short-term gains.
This does not constitute an investment recommendation.
@stethandstocks One of your earlier replies served as the trigger for this investment analysis
SMART MONEY STAYS WITH QUALITY: ARADEL, DANGOTE & MTN DOMINATE NGX TRADE VALUE AGAIN
These three companies stood out again with high trade values despite not having the largest trade volumes.
This reinforces my earlier observation…strong institutional flows continue to concentrate on quality, high-conviction plays rather than chasing high-volume, low-value trades.
I anticipate a price re-rating this week as buying momentum intensifies in these equities
This does not constitute an investment recommendation. It is simply my opinion.
