There is no formula or ‘one way fits every moment’ for the Holy Spirit, worship leading or ministry. Seek first the Kingdom is the closest thing we’ve got. And it’s enough. It is so surely more than enough.
In our streamlining we have settled. Dependent on things we believe to be sure to work every time rather than the Lord who may do things differently every time.
I think there is a sweet spot, where Jesus is, that perfectly holds mystery AND simplicity. We must not complicate what Jesus has made simple, but we also must not water down His great mystery. The Holy Spirit will show us how! #thisistheWayy
Listening isn’t always even a means of coming to an agreement. However, It is one of the most effective tools we have at loving well in spite of disagreement.
If we truly listened to those we disagree with to the same depth that we ourselves wish to be listened to, we would live in quite a different world wouldn’t we? I dread the day we seem to be daily approaching more quickly, where listening is a forgotten art.
It’s when the jar of clay begins to take credit for the treasure that fills it, that things get wonky. We will only ever be vessels. Joyful recipients, but never the source. And if we’ve only ever been given, how could we boast of anything as if it’s ours?
