The 2026 MIO has ended with a tie for 1st in the Masters: IM Jairo Hernandez Sanchez (trophy on tie-break), and GMs Cristhian Rios Gomez and Guha Mitrabha.
The Amateur had a 2-way tie for 1st: CM Tarush Jindal (trophy) and Pu Yu.

Terrible news has hit the chess world today.
Grandmaster Jan Timman has sadly passed away at the age of 74. Known as the "Best of the West", Jan was a fearless competitor, a World Championship contender, and a nine-time Dutch champion. Rest in peace.
The 2026 MCC Blitz Championship on Sunday 8 Feb and starts at 2 pm.
