A force..a visionary, who's life's work has been devoted to truth & justice...truth being that human beings are animals & part of the natural world...& justice...that we have ethical, moral, now legally constructed obligations to protect it. #SirDavidAttenborough is a life force.
Several beings in need of my personal attention...Australia's fire-fighters get behind the koala awareness & protection. Australia without them...specifically koalas...is unimaginable to me. #Koalas#ConservationMatters ππ
Heartbreaking scenes from California..ultra-extreme conditions have culminated in this wildfire event..just beyond tragic for people, environment & animals. I can only offer my heartfelt condolences to all who are suffering right now. Australia understands the pain. ππ

We sometimes encounter beings in our travels, whom make an impression on us, at the time, and afterwards...why? Is it that moment, a look, a feeling?...nothing spectacular, but just a moment...ππ
Thank you...for another beautiful edition...ππ...the conservancy is without doubt, at the forefront of Australia's conservation, research & education efforts...can't endorse you enough!!! Beautiful, always positive & always joyful!!
Meet the Lemon-scented sun orchidπ
Its common name is fairly self-explanatory but its genus' scientific name carries a little extra zest, named "woman's hood," in reference to the centre of many of its species' flowers.
Talk about a pocket full of sunshine!π

This baby elephant in Tesso Nilo National Park probably showing how he feels about humans. The Park in Sumatra is home to iconic and endangered wildlife and incredible biodiversity, but lost 87% of its primary forest cover between 2002 and 2022, mainly to oil palm plantations.

@AidaGreenbury Sadly, our remaining elephants are struggling...the same reasons. Sri Lanka has the highest rate of elephant/ human conflict in the world...despite being worshipped in religious practice, they are still pests to subsistence farmers...Asian elephants will struggle to survive..ππ
And they are beautiful & make the sweetest noises in my garden..I know they are there, they announce themselves...a constant joy to encourage them & admire their beauty!!..beautiful!!
AWC teams are on the ground, tackling the biggest threats to Australia's native wildlife β from habitat loss and invasive species to poor fire management and a changing climate.
But we need your help to continue our vital work π https://t.co/hZLX8ANVvZ

Wild born ex-captive #orangutans walking in Learning Forest. See individual in background descending from tree. They were all in the canopy but itβs now time to go to feeding. Please support my mission! We can save orangutans & the other apes, great and small, if we work together.
@CzarinaRMusic That is an interesting question. How deep do we go? What makes us human? Certainly not the values we hold, nor the beliefs. It's purely biological. We belong to genus Homo species, Sapien..does that make us special?...in my limited experience, the answer is a resounding 'no'..
