@MsAndreaMarie_ This happens to me everytime. I leave a completely cleared out room and move in to "go through it, there's good stuff there, I just don't need it". There should be contract language.
I can't tell you how many times this year a student came to school sick (strep, cough, pink eye) and said their parent told them to just wait til first recess to call home. They're lucky I don't use *more* sick days.#onted
@jennyleeshee Same. Just found out I'm moving downstairs again this year. Just finished eqao, need to do reports but don't want to move my stuff in the summer.
BREAKING: Ford gov has taken over $1.3 billion out of public education funding & deliberately hid the cuts under a "Planned Provision" item!
This means Ford has cut $1500 per student in #OntEd funding since 2018. Really shows their commitment to transparency 😡 #OSSTF#OnPoli
@JBradshaw01 I find most absences this year seem to be non-illness related: out of town trips, getting a new pet, just because, going to grandmas while parents vacation, etc.
Ontario public elementary schools to add 401 specialized literacy teachers, according to tentative agreement between government, school boards and @ETFOeducators https://t.co/4oa1pz3hvz
@calphonso@ETFOeducators Imagine if the salary of those 401 went to budgets for resources to teach the language curriculum? Most teachers have extended the minimal PD given by Boards, learning it on our own time. No $$ given means teachers/individual schools pay for materials to deliver the program.
Michael Ford @MichaelFordTO who only has a high school education and earns $160,000 for working 6 months a year is proud to announce that ECE Educators with a college diploma will earn $45,000 for working 12 months a year!!

Parent/teacher night. Crossed paths with a mom who's kid I taught in 2019/2020. She said, "You're still the favourite, we talk about you often." That's the stuff that makes 12 hour days a bit better.
There is no #OntEd “Grade 6 Science textbook” or “Grade 4 Social Studies textbook”. Everything your child is learning in public elementary school was likely created, found, or purchased by their teacher. And if they’re in French Immersion, it was also translated by their teacher.
@jennyleeshee @Sflecce We had the curriculum read to us on our PA day....such training. Still waiting for answers to all our questions that they said they'd circle back to
