"But it’s an earlier scene I want to describe for you all, as writers and friends and fathers… up at the hospital, in cold awful Spokane." https://t.co/5p3CVzzBM3

Is it truly a Poetry Party if it's not Cold? Not this week it isn't!
This piece encapsulates the deep chill of a winter morning, and dismal longing that sometimes comes with it. This is "A New Year" by @theoriginalison

Often enough, nothing is colder than the truth, and this lil CNF is written proof.
This bit describes a rough morning, a rougher period, and the benefit of drive. This is "Uphill, Both Ways" by @crankypacifist

Closing out your day with another frigid flash..of flash fiction. (On a roll? Maybe not. Ok!)
This piece manifests a protective nature into the smallest spaces it can. This is "The Girl on the Pickle Jar" by @amygcb

It’s been about a year and I am still so goddamn proud about this story. My first publication, and in my opinion, my best so far. This is what I try to accomplish in my work: visceral, hard-hitting, fiction that asks you the hard questions. This publication keeps me going.
Listening to the production and sound of this cover album just proves that Springsteen’s original NEBRASKA thrives on the stripped-down, melancholic simplicity. This album is about pain. No need for the musical flash.
Started off in January with the great @CountryLiterary taking a chance on a very hard-to-digest short story that’s been in my pocket for a long while:

Well well well. This is it, folks. The Cold is breaking, and we're warming it up with a little short prose.
This piece, appropriately, speaks of reprieve from the chill of the season. This is "APRICITY" by @enchienchilada

Tinkling chimes
Painting space
In vibrant strokes
Of aural grace
Sweet plink triggers
Memory's chase—
A whispered name,
Remembered face
Time and setting
Mood and place
It all comes rushing
Back to me
A bitter recall,
#Dissonant
As I miss how
We used to be...
