Today, I'm remembering the first 3 days of the #Trudeau gov. I was with Indigenous leaders and allies demanding a #fossilfuel phase-out + support for #renewables
No matter who the PM is, #ClimateJustice will take organizing, solidarity, and grassroots action

Canada's fossil fuel subsidies reached over **$8.4 billion** so far this year
Public funds should never be used to increase the profits of oil & gas CEOs
@JustinTrudeau & @cafreeland must quickly deliver on their promise to #StopFundingFossils

Not going gently into that dark night of Trump-lite in Canada. I’m currently chained to a replica oil jack blocking Pierre Poilievre’s driveway, calling him out for protecting polluters over people
The New Zealand government is pulling back on protecting Māori rights, sparking protests from indigenous lawmakers who oppose the decision with their traditional “haka” chant.
This is powerful.

No Jasper is not a tragedy. It’s a scandal. A tragedy is a problem without a solution. A scandal is a problem with a solution that is known but not acted upon. Our governments and the oil companies knew. They knew and didn’t act. It’s a scandal our governments are expanding & even using taxpayer money to subsidize oil & gas projects even though the science is clear that means more climate change, more fires & more lives lost.
We should accept nothing less than leaders willing to do what is necessary to protect the people and places we love: reflections on family, loss and leadership after the Jasper wildfire from our

I met with a group of teenagers yesterday. One of their teachers had suggested that I talk to them about career paths because they're all anxious about exams, university choices and future work.
Instead of talking to them, I listened, and the actual problem was very different.
Canadian banks remain among the highest funders of fossil fuels in the world! And despite green pledges they continue to invest in fossil fuels!
