Macklemore can scream “Free Palestine” from the rooftops.
Ed Sheeran can respond, “Cool. Then you’re not coming on my tour.”
Neither one is violating the other’s free speech rights.
You’re entitled to your opinion. You’re NOT entitled to someone else’s platform or paycheck.
I don't think advocating for the genocide of Israel and wearing anti semitic costumes qualifies as activitism. How would you like it if Macklemore had dressed in black face and called for the genocide of Liberia? I know you Westerners are very clueless but "free Palestine, river to the sea" is a genocidal call for the erasure of the state of Israel.
And if Macklemore is so concerned about peace and Palestinian lives, he should be calling for Hamas to surrender and agree to a two state solution. This way Israel has no excuse or reason to attack Palestine. But we all know he won't do that. Just like he won't tell them to quit sacrificing their own by fighting from within the civilian population
Macklemore walked onto Ed Sheeran's stage on tour, looked out at thousands of parents and kids WHO PAID $180 a ticket for a night of music, and decided to hijack the crowd with a "Free Palestine" rant.
He thought he was being "brave." He thought he’d get the usual Hollywood pat on the back for wearing his keffiyeh and lecturing everyday Americans. Instead, he got a hard dose of reality. One regular dad posted the brutal truth: We paid for music, not a political speech.
That post went viral and the free market slammed the brakes. Venue owners told Sheeran point-blank: if Macklemore is on your ticket, you aren't playing here. So now, Macklemore has to play Dearborn instead.
For the first time since October 7th, a regular American stood up, pushed back, and the entire system moved. We are sick of uneducated lunatics using every stage in America to berate us with a worldview so tiny it fits into the words, "oppressor" and "oppressed." We aren't paying for your crazy anymore. You're a performer. Just shut up and go sing.
Ed Sheeran didn’t get to $400 million by turning somebody else’s stadium into his personal soapbox.
He’s the HEADLINER. His name is on the marquee. His tour. His stage. His audience. His crew. His business.
Macklemore asked to join the tour. Ed said yes. He was handed a massive platform and an audience he didn’t have to spend years building.
And somehow the opener confused being invited with being important.
Sweetheart, there’s a reason you’re the plus-one.
You didn’t build the tour. You didn’t sell the tickets. You didn’t create the audience. You didn’t bankroll the production. You were invited to open the damn show.
So maybe don’t walk into someone else’s house, grab the microphone, hijack the room, and then act shocked when the homeowner tells you to leave.
Ed built his platform. He earned his audience. He sells out stadiums. He pays his people. He puts on the show.
The openers can keep chasing political applause and internet validation.
But being loud doesn’t make you the star. Being invited doesn’t make it your platform.
There’s a reason one name is in giant letters on the marquee.
And there’s a reason yours is nowhere to be found.
🚨 WOW! The streets of Washington, DC are absolutely FLOODED with people cheering for President Trump’s kiIIing of Khamenei
This is HISTORIC.
Democrats are going to have a REALLY tough time spinning this one.
The Iranian government did murder 30k protesters, refused to allow the families of the murdered to grieve in public, and continually harassed and threatened citizens opposed to this brutal regime. We can only hope the citizens of Iran capitalize on this opportunity
@SabirahLohn OMG She use to be so beautiful. I know her dad died and it's so hard for her. I lost both my parents and my dog in a very short amount of time and it was devasting. I hope she gets the help she needs and therapy. It is not a bad thing. I did it and I am on medicine now.
The last part of James Van Der Beek’s life was spent doing fundraisers to pay for his cancer treatments. When even a famous actor can’t afford healthcare imagine how bad it is for the rest of us. Nobody should have to go through this. We need a nationalized healthcare system now!
@philly_captain I am just so sad to hear this. I cried. I am very happy that he was able to travel and live out his dreams. He was just so young. I am sad he was alone at home. He just bought a home and now he is gone. I am sad i won’t be seeing his videos anymore.
