Women have changed the way momentous events are reported. In Through Her Eyes Australia's Women Correspondents from Hiroshima to Ukraine, out Sept 6, they share stories of life as a correspondent; the risks, the suffering they witness and the joy. Co-edited with Trevor Watson
So @commbank wants you to take your complaint offline to make it look like they are helping. The offline answer: I'm sorry Melissa, our colleagues over the phone have tried to assist you with this directly and were unable to provide the outcome that you desired. It's just PR.
@CommBank So I tried to call back @commbank, but guess what? You can call me but I can't call you. Big surprise. If you don't sort this out we can't settle on my son's first home.
In @CommBank trying to transfer some money. turned away for the third time. online advice go to a branch. First branch: the teller needs to go to lunch, go to another branch. Second branch: wait one hour while they serve everyone else.
@CommBank So three phone calls, (two hours on hold) two branch visits (one hour queueing) the bank says "sorry there's nothing we can do." So sorry, but I guess you can't settle on the property till the funds clear. So now we wait. Thanks @CommBank
@CommBank Well @CommBank it is still not fixed. I'm urgently waiting on you to release my money for a property settlement. On hold again. No one is prepared to assist with this on the phone or in the branch. And oh yeah I did DM.

Talking about Through Her Eyes and women foreign correspondents with Kylie Morris at Words at Wagstaffe. Brilliant day with smart people at a very cool tiny writers festival in a glorious waterfront town. #wordsonthewaves

@JaneCaro May I offer a tip? If there are too many possible solutions, choose a word that 'wastes' a go. don't use any of the letters you already know, but use up five others. Then you will know both what letters are in the word and importantly what is not.
When I was 21 I was a political reporter in the Press Gallery. I knew how despicable Nazis were - I read books, watched films and tv. I went to a fancy dress party around that time - as a cat. It's that easy. #auspol
50 years after Whitlam recognised the PRC, relations may again thaw as Penny Wong visits China. Paul Raffaele, a first correspondent, writes of an often forbidding place. Read fascinating first hand stories of the rise of a superpower in The Beijing Bureau.
In stores and online.
Reading Harold Evan’s ‘Good Times, Bad Times’ inspired me. It laid out what it meant to be a journalist. So pleased to be asked to contribute to a book that does the same. Stories from Australian women across the decades. Great holiday reading. Tks @MelissRob and @WatsonTrevorJ
@CoachHess40 @4thandlongmedia somebody really loves you! As kids we would eat spoonfuls of Milo straight from the can. Also yellow Twisties fingers is kind of the point.
Barbara Miller (ABC0 captured some of 'the first first-hand accounts of the sheer brutality of the Russian invasion' of #Ukraine. Read her compelling story of refugees fleeing the shelling in Through Her Eyes Australia's Women Correspondents Hiroshima to Ukraine.
