marry someone you’d go to war with, because some days, life will feel exactly like that.
we romanticize the wrong things. we chase easy. someone who feels good, fits neatly, is compatible, keeps everything smooth, that is lovely and works when life is soft but life isn’t always soft, there will be seasons where money is tight, plans fall apart and both of you are tired, stretched, exhausted and uncertain.
in those moments, you don’t need someone who just looks good beside you. you need someone who stands firm with you.
someone who believes in you so deeply that when you forget who you are, they remind you. when you say “i can’t do this,” they don’t panic, they steady you and say “you can… i’ve got you.” that’s the person not the one who loves you when you’re winning but the one who stays in the trenches when you’re losing, and never once considers leaving. stop chasing easy. easy doesn’t build anything.
find the one you’d go to war beside cos building a real life together will feel like war sometimes and the right person will make you grateful you never had to fight it alone.
learn something. buena suerte 👍
Honestly, there’s a serious lack of good partners out here and it’s one of the reasons marriages feel harder these days. The ones who are genuine, consistent, emotionally available, and actually put in effort aren’t as common as people think. You really can’t afford to be careless with the ones who actually show up right.
For relationships to last, you really gotta see your partner's point of view of things, and be considerate. Be willing to grow. People can learn from their mistakes, it's all about communication.
