On April 9-13 2018, MEMAC Director Dr. Capt. Abdulmunem Al-Janahi attended the 72nd Marine Environmental Protection Committee Meeting (#MEPC72 ), which was organized by the International Maritime Organization (@IMOHQ ) at their headquarters in the United Kingdom.

The MEMAC team attended to observe and supervise the Exercise, And the MEMAC office played its usual role during the emergency as assigned by the Regional Protocol.

On the 4th of December 2023, the Environment Authority of the Sultanate of Oman conducted its National Oil Spill Exercise in Sohar Port in cooperation with MEMAC.The Exercise aims to test the newly formed Oman National Contingency Plan.

The Exercise was attended by all of the Sultanate National Contingency Plan Parties from all of the ministries and authorities, and all of the Member States' oil spill response officers joined the Exercise through communication.
