@magatsuizanyagi I was definitely perplexed when I saw this. By a lot of things. I guess I don't get what the subreddit considers 'good/bad writing' or 'being disliked'.
@NoctisAozaki The #1 thing I've learned from almost 20 years in fire emblem fan spaces is that criticisms are ONLY bad in new games. The same critcisms in old games are good things actually
@MrFry_ I compared Heiyue in Calvard to the Black Knight in the old console fire emblem games. The less info there was, the more exciting and compelling they felt. The more convoluted things became and the more focus it got, the more I felt like I was just sitting there going "Oh. OK."
@ScourgeHH TBH the logistics of Sky FC's timeframe is fascinating to me because at least going off the wiki, it's implicitly stretched over like six whole months.
@MrFry_ I know a lot of people criticize prime 4 for the fact that it has NPCs at all, but honestly I think they were perfectly fine for a prime game, and they're not in the top 3 things I'd change about the game.
Overall, I think Metroid Prime 3 is still my favorite prime game and Dread is still my favorite 2D series game. But I'm glad Prime 4 exists and that they feel willing to try stuff to distinguish the games a bit.
I'm most of the way done with metroid prime 4, and I'll ramble a bit about it in the void I guess. The zones, aesthetics, and music are really cool. The motorcycle is fun. Sol Valley was interesting at first, but became more annoying the longer I spent there.
I've seen people be really upset about Myles and Nora. They're fine. The characters are tropey, but they really don't have to be more than that. However, VUE is my son and I will be modding him into all past present and future metroid titles.
@MrFry_ I liked Basel a good amount, I just like to poke fun at Quatre's outfit. It felt like every chapter put in good work selling me a little bit more on the cast in Daybreak tbh.
