Nearly 50 years ago, Jimmy Carter attempted to take on the energy powers that be and transition America towards energy independence through clean energy. He lead by example & put solar panels on the White House. He was mocked, and Ronald Reagan tore them down.

There's no labor shortage. There's a shortage of jobs treating people with basic respect.

The protests in Ottawa have become a stumbling block for relationships across the country as it puts new stress among people with differing views. As @BellePuri reports, many are “unfriending” one another.
Semantic note. It's certainly a "truck" protest. Trucks are being used as a weapon of economic warfare against the Canadian state. But it's not a "trucker" protest. 90% of Canadian truckers are vaccinated, and comparatively few of the truck blockaders drive a truck for a living.

Many asparagus-eating friends have written privately to me to say they enjoyed ‘Decoupled’. I see that they are restrained in publicly sharing this view to appease the more delicate. I request you to instead champion us. The show has given so much joy to so many sane people.
We have patiently and respectfully worked with The Canadian Medical Association Journal for countless hours, months and meetings to educate & develop the process for the Black Health special issue. We will not proceed and stand in solidarity with Muslim women and communities.
A devastating misunderstanding is that the education system is fundamentally just & only needs tweaking. We can't tweak our way to antiracism. If we're serious about racial equity, we understand the system is fundamentally unjust and scale our responses accordingly.
