@Okami13_ If the story of TES6 was setting up how cool the story of TES7 was going to be, that's not interesting to be in. If they want to tell a story with the Thalmor on top they should just *do* that. They don't need to dedicate a whole release to build up.
@Okami13_ I feel like trying to do ESB in TES is a terrible idea that fundamentally misses the appeal of these games.
People don't play TES for a story, they play them to be immersed in a world. The story of these games should be a scenario for players to enjoy being in. 1/2
@emma_martello And I am so certain this was the intended route just because of the final boss. The Absolute summoning faceless thralls that have the party's classes feels kind of lazy, but The Emperor summoning the party's Dream Guardians who have their classes feels cool and dramatic!
@emma_martello The transition from "Fuck this voice" to "Maybe I SHOULD trust this voice." to "Oh, yeah, this voice actually is a threat to the Absolute" then finally "The Emperor is a threat to the Absolute but is also just as bad and should not be trusted." could have been really interesting!
@headfallsoff Luke appealing to Darth Vader's good side wasn't Luke being a hero who believes in people, it's actually the jedi technique Reverse Dun Moch which shakes your opponents will and makes their attacks weaker.
@EmmyEnnit @LaskaReyne Never feel terrible for having empathy. So long as your empathy for one isn't overriding your empathy for another the you're doing okay.
@docsquiddy I was in a Discord group talking about dream games, and pitched "Xcom, but D&D". The gameplay loop of Xcom, recruit and send out characters on random missions, build up resources, but a fantasy setting.
One guy insisted the game already existed and was Baldur's Gate 3.
I left.
@CaffeinatedDad1@GuildWars2 By aggressively pursuing a linear story Guild Wars 2 has neglected the world of Tyria itself. Major factions and races have been languishing because they're not relevant to the narrative and some locations can never be revisted because their maps are tied to a single major event.
@RioanneVT I feel like GW2 would really benefit from some lore blog posts or something. It's been almost ten years and we still don't know what's going on with the Nightmare Court.
