@trevor_flipper and i have a contrarian take that the vc’s are a tailwind for @Lighter_xyz that will help with both. i would not sleep on ribbit capital, robinhood, a16z and founders fund helping leapfrog them to first place in US markets and plugging in to their existing network/invest cos.

they need to show their retail user focus has pmf. that’s accomplished with 1) distribution (partnerships) and 2) awareness of benefits over major competitors. metrics and fees will all workout if they’re successful. a good chart for ethereum:0x232ce3bd40fcd6f80f3d55a522d03f25df784ee2 helps too - give retail users who keep getting rinsed some hope in the space.

i’m very optimistic they will figure this out +become the lead dog for users in the US.

i had missed this thanks for the share. i interpret johann’s comments as ‘we hope users gravitate towards our centralized version but we have a hedge with lighter and our investment in it). there are arguments for both sides, but my bet is lighter’s design architecture and multi-year head-start will win.
