@misanon11 My laptop's hard drive also died last year, and more recently the external hard drive that I've used as an archive for over a decade has stopped turning on. I'm hoping it's just a failed power connector rather than the drive itself being dead.

The contrast might be intentional, but probably doesn't actually mean much.
