Wednesday Archive Day. This picture shows a block printer at work. This technique of printing textiles was brought to England by the Huguenots in the early 1700's. The museum offers a textile workshop where you can learn about block printing. Contact us for more information.

Friday Pub Day. Today we thought we would share a photo of the Burn Bullock, Mitcham. Photo from Feb 2008 the pub in all its glory. Closed for 10 years it was gutted by fire in 2024. It would be wonderful if the owners with support of Merton Council could bring it back to life.
Tuesday Quiz Day. Last week's picture was of Ravensbury Print Works. Established 1690's the best known occupiers were the Mauvillain family. All that remains today is a wall on the northern edge of Ravensbury Park, Mitcham.

Thursday Postcard Day. This postcard which is on sale at the Wandle Industrial Museum shows the Surrey Iron Railway wharf at Wandsworth. For many years the painting hanged in the boardroom of Young's. The horse drawn railway carried goods from the Thames to Pitlake/, Croydon.
