Milimani Childrens court Principal Magistrate Hon. Jackie Kibosia convicted and sentenced a middle-aged woman to Pay Ksh 15 Million in default serve 5 Years in prison for the offence of child pornography.

The accused, Sharon Wabwile who was at the time of committing the offence working as a househelp was found guilty in all the three counts.

The prosecution through Victor Preston Owuor submitted during sentencing hearing that the victim had suffered emotional loss and prayed for Compensation under Section 26 of the Victim Protection Act.

The court heard that the accused who was entrusted to take care of the victim took several pictures of the seven-year old victim while she was asleep and sent them to her boyfriend who had requested the accused's naked images.

The court further ordered the accused to pay a restitution amount of Kshs. 2 million to the victim adding that the restitution will take precedence over the fine. The court went on to state that in the event that she is unable to raise the amount, then the victim is at liberty to claim the same through the Victim Protection Trust Fund.

The court also ordered that the images be expunged from all social, print, and visual media platforms and that the phone that was used to take the images be forfeited to the Communication Authority of Kenya.
