Delay in SBI Caps Review Could Push Hyderabad Metro Phase-II Costs Even Higher

🔹Hyderabad Metro Phase-II costs have risen significantly, with the revised DPR estimating construction costs at ₹314 Cr/km, up from ₹269.83 Cr/km earlier
🔹Officials warn the figure could increase further if DPR revisions and approvals continue to be delayed
🔹Separately, the Telangana Govt's takeover of Phase-I remains on hold as the ₹13,600 Cr IRFC loan is yet to be released. Until then, L&T will continue operating the metro and is reportedly bearing interest costs of around ₹70 Cr per month
🔹A joint Centre-State SBI Caps committee is expected to review the project's assets, liabilities and financial obligations before a final takeover decision
🔹Officials expect the committee to submit its report by September
