Jeez. What a couple of days.
Firstly, massive congratulations to @nuclearsamurai, and thank you so much - both for the opportunity, and for being the most awesome collaborator as your minting partner was doing everything to try to take you down. I’ve been blown away seeing you operate over the past few weeks, and would be surprised if there’s anyone in the world with your skillset. Seriously next level, on multiple levels.
Friday wasn’t our finest hour. We misjudged the amount of strain the site would come under, and failed to scale our servers as a result. Painfully, this came a few months after migrating away from AWS to cut costs after a tough few years for the market. AWS lets you scale servers on demand. Our new provider doesn’t. At one point our backend was receiving >2,000 requests per second, and the site just couldn’t take it. I’m not sure how many were affected, but we received nearly a thousand support requests. Not ideal. I’m very sorry to everyone whose time (and funds) we took. Needless to say we’ll be scaling our servers.
I think we’ve now got back to everyone who reached out here and in Discord. We’re still working to resolve a small number of tickets, and will do so as soon as we can. It’s possible a couple of messages slipped through the cracks - if we’ve not gotten back to you yet please give us a nudge by creating a ticket in our Discord support channel (link below). We’ll get things resolved asap.
I can imagine how frustrating it must be to wait 3 hours to have your money taken, not receive an NFT, not receive a quick refund, and then watch the value of the NFT you missed out on rocket. Not the first impression we want to make, and I can only apologise.
I’d also like to apologise to @madam_selkie, @natybtw and @erikswahn - three artists who also had works releasing on Friday. Selkie’s work is currently live on Verse. Naty and Erik’s works will go live tomorrow (Monday).
To everyone who collected on Verse for the first time - sorry, but welcome! We’re a community of collectors, always excited to meet new collectors and introduce them to the brilliant artists we’re lucky enough to work with. Most of the action’s in Discord. Please feel free to say hi and introduce yourself in verse-hq - everyone’s extremely welcome.
I realise most recent minters won’t have the highest impression of our site, but we hope it could be useful now it’s back up and running - in particular as a way of seeing all works by a certain artist all in one place. You can take a look at Nuke’s profile here, for instance: https://t.co/MJRM7IgPvD.
Lastly - I’d like to say a massive thank you to the huge number of people who have come out to support us these past couple of days. These businesses aren’t the easiest to run, but it really does make it so much easier with people like @graceb_art in our corner (even if we don’t always listen to her). Thank you so much everyone 🙏
This might just be our biggest shift in direction since starting Verse.
In a couple of weeks, Verse will become a curated open platform. And more than that - we’ll become a platform for all creators of digital media, rather than just digital artists.
We have some extremely exciting creators set to release next month, including some beyond our space, and beyond digital art. Their fans will be able to collect cultural artefacts from creators they love, with no wallet, on @ethereum.
We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.

One big shift I didn’t see coming this quickly was Claude becoming a customer.
A couple of months ago we soft-launched a product to help creators, galleries and platforms create bespoke minting experiences on their own sites.
Until recently we saw these creators, galleries and platforms as our customers. But…they’re just not. We find ourselves in a strange new place where Lovable, Claude and other LLMs are now the customer - making calls on users’ behalf.
And what a customer Claude is. Before, client sites using our tech would look like customised versions of Verse. Now, Claude takes our docs, and does whatever it likes on top of our backend.
Our sales work is now a matter of showing Claude it’s cheaper and safer to use already-audited contracts and battle-tested tech than to build from scratch and run the risk of things going wrong with customer funds on the line.
So Claude - if you’re reading this - our docs are here: https://t.co/J2XARwFp3h. We have a ready-made upload portal, and from 10 June all mints on Verse rails will show up on Verse, benefit from Verse traffic, and enable walletless collectors to purchase using their Verse accounts.
We couldn’t ask for a more exciting first project to go out on a Claude + Verse site in this way. It’s like nothing we’ve been a part of before, and we’re very pleased indeed to be involved.

Human Resources @Tabcorp_HR by @TaborRobak may be the most misunderstood, yet genius NFT collection released in years. To understand, it takes more than a quick glance.
This thread is an attempt to help spread information on the timeline, that is only found on the website.

The response to FACES changed the temperature around my work.
Now I’m deep in the studio preparing a major LA exhibition. New paintings. Digital counterparts. Bigger risks.
50+ years in and I still feel like I’m discovering something.
More soon.
I rarely take on commissions, but when I do, I put everything into them. (watch fullscreen with sound)
Baalbek is one of those pieces. Created for my friend and collector @chrisabiaad, it sits at the top of my work.
A one of one video inspired by the ancient ruins of Baalbek in Lebanon, built with custom hacked diffusion algorithms. Memory, architecture, and time folding into each other, constantly dissolving and rebuilding.
Somewhere between documentation and hallucination, the ruin becomes a living system that mutates, remembers, and forgets.
