Kindness is better understood as a sense of being “of the same kind,” and acting on that sense. Too often it’s confused with niceness, which can mask honest exchange and distort perception.
@NAChristakis Thanks for sharing. Yes it’s too bad that there’s a concept of a shareholder but no concept of a #WorldHolder or #WorldOwner. It may be a small fractional share but it’s important!
Freedom of speech and thought is different in a digital age than at any point in history. The defining characteristic of #digitality is that communication platforms are always involved, and thus have an impact. An obvious point, but I don’t think the implications are known yet.
@jdeutsch An inefficient method of data collection. I should have an online identity and give permission to different entities for information. Why do I need to write down the same emergency contact in 12 different places?
Boomers filled out paper forms. Millennials fill out online forms. How many generations will it take to eliminate the concept of forms altogether? When will we figure out how to reuse and access secure personal data rather than filling out forms? #FormlessInternet

What if online identities were supported by large NGOs, rather than Facebook or Google? This could make digital identity more enduring and trustworthy and open new possibilities for how we think about privacy. The “Third Sector” is noticeably absent in digitalism.
