To take on this crisis, we need to think big.
To take on corrupt powers that be, we have to be strategic.
To take on violence, we have to be pro-peace.
Introducing: A Peace Plan for a Safer America. Created by survivors, so you don’t have to be one.

America’s gun violence crisis in not about mental health. Or video games. Or the internet. That’s what the NRA wants Americans to believe. Gun violence is a crisis in our country because of easy and unfettered access to guns.
The students of MFOL Texas have spoken. They need YOU to be part of the change. More than thoughts and prayers - they need action.
Here’s how you can help El Paso during this difficult time:

.@senatemajldr McConnell has had 200+ days to pass gun laws & save lives.
In 24 hours, 29 people were killed in mass shootings & on average 100 Americans will be fatally shot every day the Senate fails to act.
Send an email urging your senators to act: https://t.co/cLfNWCFB8B
This is Glen Oakley.
He was in the @FootLocker when the El Paso shooting happened. When he ran to leave, he saw kids in the mall without their parents, scared and alone.
So he picked up as many as he could and carried them to safety.
Focus on the heroes.

Remember how you’re feeling today come November 2020.
Do your research on where your State/U.S. Representatives, State/ U.S. Senators (if up for re-election) stand on the gun issue.
If you don’t like it, CHANGE IT.
BREAKING: Despite NRA opposition, the U.S. House just voted to pass the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which includes life-saving gun safety provisions that are bipartisan, like keeping guns out of the hands of abusive dating partners and stalkers.
The @NRA opposes the Violence Against Women Act because “the legislation could lead to firearm confiscations over misdemeanor domestic violence or stalking convictions.”
Why are we letting the gun lobby write our gun laws? #vawa

You know, instead of training children, teachers, houses of faith, & concertgoers to prep for being shot, we could just:
-Pass Universal Background checks (#HR8!)
-Disarm domestic abusers
-Mandate safe storage
-Ban bump stocks, semiautos, & high cap mags designed to kill people
1 year ago, we held the largest protest against gun violence in history.
1 year later, young people everywhere are still organizing to power the movement that is saving lives.
We won’t live in fear because our current leadership is immoral. We can be the morally just leaders.
No community on Earth should have to experience the intense loss that comes from gun violence.
When hate tries to divide us, we will always respond with compassion & unity.
Money raised is going to Christchurch for healing. Rise up against hate with us: https://t.co/8Z4wUC9Ffc
BREAKING: The House just passed #HR1112, the Enhanced Background Checks Act, to close the Charleston Loophole.
Since 1998, the loophole has put over 60,000 guns in the hands of prohibited gun owners.
We must now call on the Senate to pass this life saving legislation.
Today, the House voted on H.R.8, AKA the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and it PASSED!
One of the first pieces of gun violence prevention legislation in a decade cleared the first hurdle toward becoming a law. #ChecksOverChecks
Trayvon Martin had dreams of being a pilot or working as a mechanic in aviation, but he was shot to death seven years ago today while walking home: 17 years old, unarmed and Black.
Let's commit ourselves to honoring Trayvon's life with action. #BlackLivesMatter
