Asked Missouri HC Dennis Gates about how he balances his own March Madness experience with Cal and Ben Braun in his coaching and thought he gave a nice answer
"I talk to all my coaches.....I have a close relationship with those guys. I take my identity as a coach and put the do's and dont's into a book. I've written things down with my process, I don't lead with I'm a former player. I talk about winning, I know how to win. That's where I summarize it to. I don't even think I ever scored 30, but I don't talk about that. In part, I use it in my intuition, in my adjusts in game and its just a plethora of experiences because I've worked for some great coaches."
Idk what upsets me more, the fact the Bears still can't land on a location or that every other team's stadium rendering looks better than the ones they put out.
Bears stadium to Indiana isn’t a done deal. Team statement very similar to one they had for Arlington Heights. Lots of dominoes still in place. Illinois is not out of it yet.
An IL House Democratic source confirms the Bears asked to pause the hearing on the megaprojects bill after “three-plus hours of conversations yesterday that all sides,” including the Bears, “agreed were productive.” Legislative leaders expect to hear from the Bears this morning.
Arlington Heights Sen. Mark Walker:
“I think the Bears are taking the responsible position to consider all their options. The fact that that committee moved that bill today was completely expected by us. So it nowhere near means they’re close to a deal yet.”
Some context for folks who don’t follow Illinois politics super closely: Andy Manar is Gov. Pritzker’s top guy on economic development and budget issues. He wouldn’t be in these meetings if Pritzker wasn’t serious about getting something done.
.@GovPritzker, talking to reporters in Collinsville, says it's "very disappointing" that the Bears would put out a statement "but not say anything about the advancement that's been made in the state of Illinois." He said they'd "mostly agreed on a bill" before the team hit pause.
Gov. Pritzker adds that Kevin Warren “chose not to be in that meeting” yesterday in which the team and state officials “mostly agreed on a bill.” The Bears, the governor said, told his staff today that their statement “was not some confirmation that they’re moving to Indiana.”
Kyren Lacy took his own life because of lies that were spread about him. That kind of harm is real and his family deserves justice and accountability for what they’ve been put through.
