@howie_hua I would start with 625-75 but thinking in $. $6.25-$0.75. Removing 3 quarters from $6.25 takes me to $5.50. However, this was subtracting three cents more than needed so I add the three cents back and remove the $… 625-72=553.
@howie_hua@Wipebook Second thought, would be much easier in feet! 2 ft by 3 ft is 6 square feet. (Could then convert back to square inches if pressed using same method as previously for 6(144) since 144 square inches per square foot.)
@howie_hua@Wipebook First, I would double and half… 12 by 72; 6 by 144. Then, I would switch to distributive property/area model adding largest areas first 600+240+24 = 840+24=864. Therefore 24”by36” is 864 square inches.
@howie_hua Not “in the classroom” but majorly affects how I show up in the classroom: Exercising before school every day, especially when I wake up “not feeling lit.” Also: Learning ro recognize the difference between “not feeling it” and recovery day needed.

@howie_hua I saw a butterfly: each wing has two diagonals of 3 tapering to a diagonal of 2. 1 wing: 3*2+2=8; 2 wings: 8*2=16. Body is a column of 2. Wings and body: 16+2=18. 18 holes in all.
@mrosvhs Point-slope wondering is appealing regarding connections among function families. Until, which point on the line would be the vertex? Would (h,k) presume it to be a given point while (x1,y1) allows for any point on the line?
