@lain_calvo Yesterday, none of us had even heard of Sancor Seguros. That’s really all you need to know when judging how effective their marketing was here.
Heart of Darkness always struck me as surprisingly juvenile in the way it tries to explore the line between “good” and “evil.” Even when I first read it in high school, I felt like I was experiencing a beta version of a genuinely profound story rather than the finished thing. Conrad touches on moral corruption, violence, civilization, and the darkness within human nature, but to me, he gestures toward these ideas far more often than he actually explores them. The potential for depth is enormous - which is precisely why its absence felt so noticeable. It wants to stare into the abyss, but too often seems satisfied with merely pointing at it.
