@joe_admh @mentalhealth@jrf_uk This is absolutely true. I experienced this in February from a close family member who despite being a psychologist, has not been able to get work and this drove them to a point of mental breakdown.
Stigma is one of the biggest barriers to people seeking support for mental health concerns, but the language we use can help foster inclusion and acceptance.

Emotional dysregulation is one of the most frustrating-- & most common-- symptoms of post traumatic stress-- & it's rarely resolved by sitting & talking with anyone, including a therapist.
Therapy is a starting point, a tool, & a safe place-- but recovery goes beyond therapy.
