2nd graders are smashing these Chalk pastel pumpkins. They used observation drawing skills to draw with glue on black paper, then colored with chalk pastels to demonstrate their color theory knowledge.
@cveschargers the art show is almost a week away. I can't wait to show you all the amazing things we made this year. Here's a sneak peak at some of this year's auction pieces...I can't pick a favorite yet.
@cveschargers learned about @courtneycoral and her work during #womenshistorymonth and began sculpting their own freestanding mini coral reefs today. The classroom was "swimming" with excitement as we explored the fragility of clay and our Earth's coral reefs!
What does an art teacher do when a kids eyes are welling up when they realize they broke something during the start of clay? We get creative so they don't miss out on the fun! Let's cover the casts #notears#alwaysaway@cveschargers
Check out these awesome dragon relief sculptures from our 4th graders @cveschargers. They created custom colors, sketches and then built using model magic. We used slabs, coils and spheres as well as a variety of tools to create textures and unique pieces. So proud of my artists!
@cveschargers in first grade learned about Alma Woodsey Thomas today and drew inspiration from her work to create our own version with a Valentine's day twist. She was the first black artist to have her work hung in the white house!
@cveschargers in 4th grade are making a splash with these breaching orca paintings. They are learning so much about atmospheric perspective and painting techniques to create depth. @lisa_minutoli@HCPSchools@FineArtsHCPS
Since @cveschargers are #anchoredinexcellence this year I am teaching 2nd grade how to paint jellyfish! Students used a combo of a Variegated wash, flat wash and a dry brush painting technique to make these so far! So proud of their hard work already. @HCPSchools@lisa_minutoli
Third graders @cveschargers are hard at work using flat washes of watercolor to paint their monster drawings using complementary colors. @lisa_minutoli@art_hcps
@cveschargers first graders are hard at work on our fall collages. We made our own secondary colors using scrape painting and are cutting organic shapes out for the tops of our trees. Stay tuned! @lisa_minutoli@HCPSchools
Huge shout out to these two amazing educators. @AlexisBoyd_CVES@MrsCallahanPE observed, and analyzed behavior data from a class to identify student engagement patterns and post conferenced about their findings to develop strategies to improve engagement. Amazing work ladies!
Fourth Grade @cveschargers are finishing their sunset silhouettes for the @ArttoRemember fundraiser. This was a great way to introduce analogous color schemes and revisit proper painting techniques! The results are stunning, I wish I could keep them for the art show!
Second graders @cveschargers are finishing their fingerprint trees for the @ArttoRemember fundraiser this week. Be on the lookout for the order forms soon! This was fun way to teach the difference between warm and cool colors and the results are fabulous!
